After a decades-long battle with drug and alcohol addiction Darryl Strawberry is making a comeback. At 46, Strawberry's latest venture, while revolving around baseball, is more personal than professional. The New York Mets have hired Strawberry essentially to be a big brother. He will serve as a special instructor during spring training and as an ambassador once the season starts, traveling within the New York metropolitan area and to the club’s minor league affiliates.
He's also lending support to the Smithers Alcohol Treatment and Training Center which supported him in his time of need.
Kudos to you Darryl Strawberry!
